Change Management Specialist
The IT Change Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing change control processes within the IT project portfolio. Acting as the primary point of escalation for change requests, the manager ensures that the change control policy, processes, and procedures are communicated effectively across functional teams and management. This role also collaborates with the Embedded PMO Partner to manage escalations and drive decision-making, supporting continuous process improvements while minimizing service impacts and risks. This role is Part-Time (24 Hours/Week) and for a 1-Year Contract with the option to extend.
Deliverable Role/Responsibilities
Serve as primary point of escalation for project change requests across the IT project portfolio
Oversee and effectively communicate the change control policy, process and procedures across the functional teams and management
Partner with Embedded PMO Partner to clearly define and obtain decision for escalated change requests
Recommend appropriate response to accept and implement, reject or defer change requests, as appropriate, based on the initial review
Own and define the processes for managing change across the IT project portfolio including thresholds for change, escalation paths across IT Functions, and cadence for change control board reviews
Ensure project impacting changes from the IT Engineering Change Advisory Board, excluding KTLOs, are shared for appropriate review by IT PMO
Support process improvement projects using continuous process improvement methodology
Ensure change requests meet all requirements to increase success factors, reduce risk and minimize the impact of change related incident on service quality
Facilitate meetings to discuss change impacts and ensure participation across functional groups, collecting meeting summaries / attendance and updating change requests with decisions resulting from review meeting
Develop and provide on-going support and improvement of a collaborative change management process utilizing ServiceNow
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience
5+ years Change Control role of project management, IT, or similar department
1+ years development or management role of ServiceNow ITSM
Demonstrate a strong ability to manage complex dependency management and identify risks
Knowledge of effective applications of Change Management at portfolio level
Ability to work effectively across teams, departments, and vendors
Strong verbal/written communication, problem solving, analytical and independent judgment skills to support an environment driven by teamwork to provide customer obsessed support
Able to positively influence, mentor and be a credible source of knowledge to less experienced team members.
2+ Years SAFe Agile experience desired.
Previous experience with IT mergers & acquisitions a plus.
Lean Six Sigma.
